New Website - Gay Christian Europe

7th March 2010

I am very excited to announce that my brand new website Gay Christian Europe is live, as off today.

Over the past 2 years I had already been contacting churches across Europe, to build a database of LGBT accepting churches in as many countries as possible. I'd had the letter I send to the churches translated in various languages, to maximise the chance of a reply... and so I had built a moderately long list already, too long to stay as one list.

So it was time to build a website to house these churches, country by country. Added to this, the LGBT Christian organization I have been involved with for many years has shown little interest in catering for people in Europe, whether it is to build resources, or make allowances for the European languages and cultures. So it is out of a need to fill a gap that wasn't filled that I decided to create this new website, and of course, in order to cater properly for European LGBT Christians, it would have to be multi-lingual.

Many wonderful friends were only too happy to help with translation in their mother tongues, and as a result, the website is today* available in English, French, Gaelic, German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Greek, Maltese, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, Icelandic, Serbian, Slovene, Macedonian, Albanian, Croatian, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Polish, Romanian, Czech, Slovak, Lithuanian, Estonian, Latvian, Russian, and Ukrainian... all human translation, as I strongly believe that European LGBT Christians deserve better than often incorrect machine translation, they deserve proper translations.

Aside from the lists of LGBT friendly churches across Europe, the website hosts many resources in many countries and languages, from books relevant to being gay and Christian, to LGBT helplines, LGBT Christian support groups, and more, as well as personal testimonies.

My hope and prayer is that it will reach many LGBT Christians who don't speak English, and that it will bless many.

May God use this website to His divine purpose.
